John Smith introducing himself. (American, male). He transferred from the New York branch of ABC company in the United States to join the Japan branch.
スミス：ジョン・スミスです。 先月、アメリカから来ました。バスケットボールが好きです。日本の道はゴミが少なくてきれいなのに驚きました。どうぞよろしくお願いします。
Smith：I am John Smith. I came to Japan last month, from America. like basketball. The thing that surprises me about Japan is that the roads are clean with little garbage. I am pleased to meet you.
Keypoints: With introductions in Japan, it is usual to state your name and then give a short (try to keep it short) piece of information about yourself and then finish with...I am pleased to meet you. Try making your own introduction and then practice it.

スミス：はじめまして、ABC会社のスミスです。よろしくお願いいたします。
田中 ：田中です。こちらこそよろしく お願いします。
スミスさん、お国はどちらですか。
スミス：アメリカです。
田中 ：いつ日本へきましたか。
スミス：先月、来ました。
田中 ：そうですか。アメリカの本社では どのぐらい働いていましたか。
スミス：５年です。
田中 ：アメリカ本社でも同じ部でしたか。
スミス：ええ。もう帰国した日本支社の佐藤と一緒に働いていました。
田中 ：あ、そうですか。
スミス：それでは、先日、お電話で話した書類を持ってきました。見ていただけますか。
田中 ：はい。
John Smith：Nice to meet you. I am Smith from ABC Company.
Tanaka：I am Tanaka. Pleased to meet you too. Mr. Smith, what country are you from.
John Smith：America
Tanaka：when did you come to Japan?
Smith：I came last month.
田中 ：Is that right? How long did you work in the American headquarters?
Smith：5 years
Tanaka ：Did you work in the same department in the American headquarters?
Smith：Yes, I was working in the same department, and I was working with Sato-san from the Japan branch office.
Tanaka ：Oh, is that so?
Smith：Well then, I brought the documents that we spoke about on the call the other day. Can you please take a look at them?
Tanaka ：Yes

スミス：この間は、ありがとうございました。
田中 ：こちらこそ ありがとうございました。この資料のことですが、会社でいろいろ相談して、お願いすることになりました。
スミス：それは、ありがとうございます。
田中 ：また、こちらからご連絡します。
スミス：よろしくお願いします。
田中 ：それでは、失礼します。
スミス：失礼します。

Smith：Thank you for your time the other day.
Tanaka ：Likewise. Thank you. Regarding this material/documents, I decided to consult with the company about various things.
Smith：Thank you
Tanaka ：We will contact you again.
Smith：Thank you.
Tanaka ：Well then, excuese me
Smith：Excuse me.
Keypoints: There are a number of interesting points here;
In the first discussion, the two speakers; Smith and Tanaka do not get straight down to business, they try to find a link between them and in this case; Sato-san is the common link. Always try to find a common link; it could be an interest, a background or as with this case a person. This helps to develop a common bond and trust.
この間、this refers to the earlier meeting...that previous time and is a standard way to discuss something that has gone past.
それでは、is a conjunction and is used to link the discussion points together
